Keeping Your Indoor Water Fountain Pet-Safe
Many of you hoping to get an indoor water fountain undoubtedly have pets. Unfortunately, some water fountains can pose a hazard to pets. Since we realize that most of you are fixed on the idea of purchasing a fountain and have no intentions of getting rid of your pet, we have chosen to compile some tips on keeping your fountain pet safe. While we understand that some of you may not be very keen on the ideas suggested below, you must remember that they are designed with your pet in mind.
The large majority of people who purchase indoor water fountains choose to buy ones that are seated on the floor. Although these fountains are stylish and do make a bold statement, they can lead to mishaps when mixed with pets. Thus, those of you that have pets should opt to purchase a wall mounted indoor water fountain. These fountains – as you could derive from their name – are hung upon a wall. They can run beautifully without any sort of disturbance from pets. Since wall mounted fountains are designed with attention to detail (as are traditional free-standing water fountains), they can significantly enhance the appearance of a room. Alternatively, you can also purchase a table top indoor water fountains. These fountains can be placed atop any table imaginable without interfering with pets.
If you’re not too fond of purchasing a wall-mounted or table top indoor water fountain, you can always choose to locate your free-standing fountain in a pet-free area. Since most pets don’t have access to every room in a home, one could choose to place their fountain in an off-limits room. Although this may not be the most ideal solution, it can save you a bunch of headaches shall your pet choose to interact with your indoor water fountain. Many people are against putting their fountains in a room other than their living room as they feel it would serve little. This couldn’t be any more of a false notion. An indoor water fountain can add to the quality of any room in your home.
If you want to locate your indoor water fountain per your discretion, we suggest keeping pets away from the particular room in which it is located during times of operation. Once you’ve finished using the fountain, you can go ahead and cover it up to protect it from your pet. If you have nothing to cover the fountain with, we recommend relocating it to your garage or any other location in your home that is inaccessible to animals. This can be achieved relatively easily through the use of a furniture roller. Be sure to be careful as you load/unload the fountain from the roller to keep from causing any damage.
It’s understandable that you care for your pet and want them to be safe. Using the above suggestions, you can ensure that your pet remains safe from the few dangers posed by indoor water fountains. We wish you (and your pet) the best of luck in owning an indoor water fountain.
